A davit socket pedestal is mounted to a structural steel beam intersection, supported by a 3/4-inch square minimum base plate welded to the beam flanges with a 3/8-inch fillet weld. Additional 3/8-inch stiffener plates are welded to each side of the beam web using 1/4-inch typical fillet welds. Plate connections measure 1/2-inch by 4-inch on each side with 1/4-inch fillet welds to the flanges and webs.
