A steel beam frames into a steel column using a bolted shear tab alongside top and bottom fuse plates secured with multiple rows of bolts. External continuity plates are positioned on each side of the column aligned with the beam flanges. Cover plates are located on each side to reinforce the connection zone. Compressible material at least one inch thick is detailed at the slab interface to accommodate movement.
