Additional number 5 continuous reinforcing bars with ninety-degree standard hooks run horizontally within the newly poured concrete slab above compacted fill. The new concrete slab interfaces with the existing grade, asphalt concrete paving, or concrete slab finish. Dowels match the size and spacing of the continuous footing reinforcement, anchored into pre-drilled holes filled with epoxy adhesive. The assembly includes references to lap lengths, embedment details, and foundation plans for comprehensive structural integration.
