A structural steel column is anchored by a four-inch thick Grade 50 base plate secured with ten one-and-a-half-inch diameter Grade 105 anchor bolts in oversized holes. Square washer plates measuring one by four inches are placed over the anchor bolts and left unwelded. The anchor bolts are arranged in a symmetrical pattern around the column web and flanges with specified edge distances and spacing dimensions.
