Steel floor beams of differing depths frame into a steel column with complete joint penetration welds at the top and bottom flanges. One-half-inch continuity plates are installed on each side of the beam web, featuring stiffener plates greater than the beam flange thickness plus one-eighth inch with a yield strength of fifty kilopounds per square inch. Three seven-eighth-inch diameter erection bolts connect the beam web with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds and one-inch returns. Concrete over metal floor deck spans across the assembly. An intersecting steel beam is shown for clarity.
