An MC12X31 structural steel beam connects to a steel column using a three-quarter-inch-diameter bolted shear plate connection with a one-quarter-inch fillet weld. A nine-by-six-and-a-half-by-half-inch steel plate with two one-inch-diameter bolts frames into the generator yard screen wall column. A three-eighths-inch stiffener plate reinforces the support condition, joined with quarter-inch welds. A half-inch thick plate ties the assembly together alongside supplementary bolted connections.
