An embedded wide-flange steel beam acts as a vertical support member within a reinforced concrete wall corner. Shear studs are welded to the web and top and bottom flanges of the beam for composite action with the surrounding concrete. Two rows of fourteen 1 1/8-inch diameter A490 bolts connect to the embedded W21 section. Continuous top and bottom reinforcing bars and vertical stirrups reinforce the concrete corner around the steel beam. A deck support angle is anchored at the underside of the concrete slab to receive the metal deck spanning from the wall.
