A shear tab connection joins a steel beam to a wide flange steel column for skewed framing conditions. The assembly incorporates a one-half-inch stiffener plate welded to the column web, connecting to a shear tab welded along three sides with five-sixteenth-inch fillets as required at specific locations. Three distinct skew angle conditions are detailed: Condition A for skews up to fifteen degrees with standard weld sizes, Condition B for skews from fifteen to thirty degrees, and Condition C for skews from forty-five to sixty degrees maintaining minimum clearances and plate offsets. Typical bolt groups secure the steel beam web to the single plate shear connection.
