Additional reinforcing around a slab opening consists of two number four diagonal bars eight feet long centered on each corner of the opening. Five number three bars spaced at two inches on center extend four feet past the corners of the openings on each side. All additional bars are placed in the same plane as the typical mat reinforcing. Openings greater than two feet are framed with a C12x20.7 channel.
