A structural steel beam frames into the web of a depressed girder with a depth depression sized per plan. A structural tee section matches the beam web thickness, or alternatively a built-up member fabricated from ASTM A572 Grade 50 plate is provided at the contractor's option. The plate thickness and number of bolts are governed by the schedule on sheet S6.01, with five-sixteenths inch fillet welds indicated at the built-up member and girder connections. Bolt placement within the structural tee or alternative member follows specific detailing guidelines when necessary to achieve the full required bolt count.
