Reinforcing bars in shotcrete assemblies require specific minimum and maximum spacing dimensions based on the bar diameter. Non-lapped bars maintain a minimum spacing of three times the bar diameter and a maximum spacing defined by five-bar increments, with a minimum clear distance of two inches up to a maximum of six inches. Where bars lap, the diameter of the larger bar dictates the governing dimension.
