A structural steel atrium parapet and seismic gap assembly intersects a floor deck. Vertical hollow structural section posts measuring HSS 4x4x5/16 are aligned and spaced at mullions with a maximum spacing of thirteen feet, featuring metal stud infill between posts. A horizontal HSS 4x4x5/16 parapet frame is spaced at six feet on center with complete joint penetration splices as required and connected on three sides. A sixteen-gauge bent plate edge form is attached to the hollow structural section and wide flange member following typical deck attachment details. Bracing is provided per sheet 17/S-505 or within one foot of each vertical post above, maintaining a one-foot clear seismic gap.
