A structural brace connects to a gusset plate welded to the underside of a steel beam with a one-inch clearance. A half-inch thick stiffener plate is welded to the beam web with quarter-inch fillet welds on three sides typically. The gusset plate features a half-inch thickness and is attached with quarter-inch welds on each side. A lower structural member connects using details specified on another sheet.
