Typical vertical offset spacing requirements for column stiffener plates at wide-flange beam-to-column connections. Horizontal column stiffener plates are used when dimension t is greater than or equal to six inches, aligning with the top and bottom beam flanges. Alternatively, a diagonal stiffener plate is utilized when dimension t is less than six inches.
