A six-inch long cripple stud matches the typical wall stud size and connects to the jamb with four number eight screws. Sill tracks and studs remain continuous with no splices allowed. Nested studs size up from XXXS137-33 at three and five-eighths and four-inch walls to XXXS200-54 at six and eight-inch walls.
