A glulam timber column bears on a wide-flange steel beam with top and bottom plates sized to match the glulam column dimensions. Four one-inch diameter epoxy rods extend through the connection with a minimum embedment of three inches and a length of one foot six inches. One-half-inch stiffener plates are provided on each side, welded with fillet welds of varying sizes including quarter-inch and five-sixteenth-inch welds. A wide-flange WT shape frames into the web of the supporting beam with a three-sixteenth-inch typical weld and three-eighths-inch plates. Steel beams framing into timber columns utilize typical connection type C30.
