A stepped slab on grade transitions between two different floor elevations with a six-inch vertical step. The concrete slab is reinforced with number three reinforcing bars spaced at sixteen inches on center. A railing is anchored into the upper slab level with placement sized per architectural drawings. The subgrade soil bears directly beneath both slab levels.
