Three-quarter-inch diameter shear studs are spaced along the top flange of structural steel beams in single and double row configurations. The double row layout requires a minimum three-inch transverse spacing between studs, with longitudinal spacing ranging from four and one-half inches minimum to twenty-four inches maximum. Edge distances maintain a minimum one and one-half inch clearance from the flange edges. Stud lengths are determined per the steel deck schedule, and general notes require reference for additional shear connector information.
