A structural steel beam-to-beam connection frames a supported beam into a supporting beam web on one side. A single plate shear tab connects the supported beam web using bolts sized per structural notes. The supporting beam web is reinforced with three-eighths-inch full-height stiffener plates and three-eighths-inch by four-inch plates on each side matching the beam flange width. Fillet welds of one-quarter-inch size secure the connection components on multiple sides. Weld backup plates are specified in the notes but omitted from the drawing for clarity.
