A skewed steel beam frames into a wide flange steel column using a one-half-inch bent plate connection. A five-sixteenths inch fillet weld secures the bent plate top and bottom to the column web. A stiffener plate is welded to the column flange with a five-sixteenths inch fillet weld per plan. The skewed beam connects to the bent plate via structural bolts.
