A minimum ten-foot horizontal clearance separates the foundation footing from the parallel trench excavation. The trench features a sloped cut proportioned at two horizontal to one vertical. Backfill is placed per the soils report, and the bottom of the trench excavation must not extend below the designated limit line. The contractor maintains full responsibility for shoring, sheathing, and shoring stability until backfill completion.
