A wood collector beam is slotted and bolted to a stiffener plate welded or secured to a hollow structural section column per plan, maintaining a one-half inch gap from the column face. The bolted connection utilizes three-quarter inch diameter machine bolts configured in quantities corresponding to the beam depth, ranging from four bolts for nine-and-a-half-inch beams up to ten bolts for beams sixteen inches or deeper. Standard spacing dimensions of three inches and one-and-a-half inches apply to the bolt pattern.
