A concrete continuous footing construction joint manages sequential pours with a keyed interface and reinforcing steel lap splices. The joint includes five and one-half inch high keys spaced at eleven inches typically, with a one and one-half inch typical depth. Rebar reinforcement extends across the joint with lap splices detailed for structural continuity. Type II Erico couplers complying with ICC-ER 3967 may be used as an alternative in lieu of standard lap splices.
