An empty hollow structural section post is capped with a quarter-inch thick seal-welded plate. Two three-quarter-inch thick plates measuring twelve inches by one foot zero inches are positioned at the top and bottom of the post. Four three-quarter-inch diameter ASTM A325N bolts secure the assembly with typical one-and-a-half-inch edge clearances.
