An HSS 6x6 post connects to an HSS spreader beam sized per plan with a 3/4-inch plate having countersunk holes for stud bolts. Angles measuring L6x4x5/16 by 0'-5" attach to each side of the hollow structural section with 13/16-inch diameter by 2 1/2-inch vertical slotted holes. A 3/4-inch diameter bolt secures the lower connection, with the hollow structural section column left unslotted. Fillet welds of 1/4-inch size are typically applied at connection points as indicated.
