A structural connection features a welded-to-bolted single plate shear tab joining a wide flange supported beam to a wide flange supporting beam. The shear tab connects to the supporting beam web, while the supported beam web is bolted per the structural schedule and beam plan requirements. A shear tab extension is required where the depth difference is greater than four inches or at single-sided connections, but is omitted at W12 beams and smaller.
