This structural steel connection features typical truss vertical and diagonal web members framing into a hollow structural section chord with a gusset plate and a web doubler plate. The web doubler plate interrupts at the incoming connection to the chord web, with a specified weld length on each side of the connection plate. A three-eighths-inch thick stiffener plate is welded to match the flange width using quarter-inch fillet welds on three sides. Complete joint penetration welds are specified at the flanges and web intersection.
