A concrete slab over metal deck is supported by a wide flange beam with an off-center deck valley. The assembly features headed shear studs welded through the metal deck to the top flange of the wide flange beam. The high flute of the deck is cut and welded to the beam where required. Additional reinforcement includes number 3 chair bars and number 3 bars at six feet zero inches long spaced at one foot six inches on center centered over the beam, with welded wire reinforcement placed at the centerline of the concrete topping at mid-span. Dimensions indicate a two-inch minimum overlap and a three-quarter-inch clearance from the top of the concrete slab to the reinforcement.
