A skewed structural steel beam connects to a column flange using complete joint penetration welds with a specified maximum clearance of one-half inch. A stiffener plate aligns with the skewed connection plate and matches its thickness. Additional beam connections occur as indicated on plan. For further information not noted, refer to sheet S5.1.
