This structural steel connection details moment-resisting connections between beams of differing depths framing into opposite sides of a column flange. A shear tab connects the beam web to the column flange using a specified number and size of bolts, with a shear tab thickness equal to the beam web thickness plus one-quarter inch. Continuity plates are welded to the top and bottom flanges of the column, using the larger of the two flange thicknesses, with a sloped bottom plate provided when the depth difference is less than three inches. A second row of bolts is added as required per the structural plans.
