A hard rock concrete topping slab is placed over a concrete substrate separated by a waterproof membrane. A center line joint features tooled edges filled with sealant. Reinforcement consists of welded wire fabric 6x6-W2.0xW2.0 for toppings less than 3 inches thick, or number 4 bars spaced at 18 inches each way for toppings 3 to 6 inches thick. The topping thickness ranges from 2 1/2 inches minimum to 6 inches maximum.
