A structural steel beam connects to buckling-restrained braces through a gusset plate welded to the underside of the beam. One-half-inch stiffener plates are welded to each side of the beam web at the work point. The braces and gusset plates are provided per the manufacturer, with erection bolts specified as typical by others.
