A water heater unit is secured with three-inch by three-inch by three-eighths-inch steel angle straps and four-inch diameter pipe legs provided with the unit. The assembly connects to a solid grouted masonry wall using eight-inch by eight-inch by three-eighths-inch steel wall plates fastened with two three-quarter-inch diameter expansion anchors requiring a minimum of four inches of embedment. Additional anchorage is provided at each corner using three-quarter-inch diameter by six-inch long expansion anchor bolts, with bolted flange connections reinforced by one-quarter-inch gusset plates.
