The electric water heater mounts on a four-inch concrete pad with one-inch chamfered edges, utilizing an incompressible insulation pad beneath the unit if legs are not provided. One-inch wide, 16-gauge steel straps secure the tank to the wall or structure. Piping connections include dielectric unions at the tank inlets and outlets, with flexible connections provided for vibration isolation. The hot water supply line features an isolation valve and a vacuum breaker mounted at eight feet above finished floor, while the cold water inlet includes a flow meter, pressure gauge, check valve, and a recirculation pump loop with a balancing valve. A temperature and pressure relief valve pipes to the nearest floor drain with an air gap, and a hose-end drain valve is provided at the base of the tank for maintenance.
