A sanitary vent pipe penetrates a metal deck topped with rigid insulation and a roofing membrane installed by the general contractor. A pipe sleeve houses the vent, surrounded by a pipe flashing boot secured with a clamping ring and sealant. Additional sealant or a weld attaches the flashing to the EPDM roofing membrane per manufacturer instructions by the roofing contractor. The vent pipe requires support within eighteen inches of the joint, a minimum height of twenty-four inches above finished floor when within ten feet of a roof parapet, and must be located at least fifteen feet away from any air intake.
