Medium pressure natural gas enters through an isolation valve followed by a dirt leg with a minimum three-inch drop. The line continues through a pressure reducing valve equipped with a Pete's plug and an optional union if the valve is not flanged. Downstream piping terminates at a flexible appliance connector when directly connected to equipment.
