This assembly provides fire protection for a structural steel column, minimum size W10x49, which is encased in fireproofing material. The enclosure is framed with one and five-eighths inch steel studs positioned at each side of the column end flange. A single layer of five-eighths inch Type X gypsum board is installed over the stud framing to complete the fire-rated column wrap.
