Hot or cold water piping is bedded within a trench of compacted dirt fill surrounded by a minimum of three inches of sand on all sides. The insulated pipe features Therma-Cel pipe insulation wrapped around the exterior. A layer of gravel sits above the sand bed directly beneath a concrete floor slab.
