The carrier pipe is wrapped in pipe insulation and supported by a clevis hanger. A section of rigid insulation is placed at the support point to prevent compression of the pipe insulation. A 22-gauge sheet metal insulation shield, 18 inches long, is installed between the clevis hanger and the rigid insulation to protect the assembly from damage.
