A four-inch by four-inch by five-sixteenths steel hanger plate aligns with the web of the beam above and supports a slotted one-point-nine-inch outside diameter pipe compression strut. A four-inch square plate welds to the pipe at the lower end and connects to the grid using a Grade 5 U-bolt with locknuts and washers. A six-inch zone is maintained clear of all services above the lighting grid.
