The carrier pipe is wrapped in pipe insulation and supported by an adjustable clevis hanger suspended from a threaded rod. Rigid insulation is installed at the support point beneath the pipe to prevent crushing of the thermal insulation. An eighteen-inch long twenty-two gauge sheet metal insulation shield cradles the bottom of the insulated pipe within the clevis to distribute the load and protect the insulation jacket.
