An insulated carrier pipe is suspended from overhead using an adjustable clevis hanger secured with nuts and a threaded rod. Rigid insulation is installed at the support point to prevent compression of the pipe insulation. A twenty-two gauge sheet metal insulation shield, eighteen inches long, wraps the bottom of the insulation to protect it from the clevis hanger loop.
