An inline circulating pump is connected inline with isolation ball valves on both sides for maintenance access. A strainer and check valve protect the pump from debris and prevent backflow. Dial type pressure gauges from 0 to 100 psig with test plugs or reducing tees are installed upstream and downstream to monitor pressure drop. An aquastat connects to the building automation system, and an automatic air release valve is installed at a high point with a 12 inch minimum vertical extension and a 4 foot maximum spacing from the pump.
