A 4-inch PVC perforated drain line is bedded in washed stone measuring three-quarters of an inch minimum to two inches maximum in size. The stone bed is wrapped with polypropylene filter fabric featuring a 12-inch minimum overlap. The entire assembly sits on undisturbed soil adjacent to a concrete foundation or retaining wall and beneath a concrete floor slab. Specified backfill is compacted over the wrapped stone trench. The drain tile is pitched at two inches per one hundred feet minimum.
