An overflow roof drain assembly penetrates a steel deck and roof insulation, secured by an underdeck clamp and receiver pan. Roofing material is clamped into the drain body at the roof level using roofing clamps and an extension piece. A 16 gauge galvanized sheet metal hood plate is secured to the top of the strainer, with edges extending two inches beyond the outside of the drain bowl. All sharp edges of the hood are smoothed to minimize rust staining at the overflow drain discharge.
