A plumbing vent stack penetrates the roof structure with required wood blocking installed below the roof deck. The roofing material and membrane connect directly to the vent pipe and turn down into the top of the stack, requiring coordination with the roofing contractor. The vent stack extends a minimum of twelve inches above the finished roof surface.
