The oil-sensing submersible sump pump is located within a sump pit at the base of the elevator shaft, featuring an oil-sensing probe and three floats for pump operation and high-liquid alarm. The discharge piping rises from the pump through a check valve and a shutoff valve, passing through a watertight sleeve in the concrete wall above the grate and frame. Power and control cables extend from the pump to a NEMA 4 junction box mounted on the wall, which connects to a remote control panel equipped with audible and visual alarms, dry contacts for remote monitoring, and a power plug. The system is provided as a complete package, with the grate, frame, and sump pit provided by others. The contractor must verify the control panel location with the Authority Having Jurisdiction prior to installation, ensuring no splices or junctions exist in the cabling other than those shown.
