A water heater support assembly is anchored to a masonry wall. The water heater is encircled by 3" x 3" x 3/8" steel angle straps connected at the flanges with bolts. A 1/4" steel gusset reinforces the connection to 8" x 8" x 3/8" steel plates. These wall plates are secured to a solid grouted section of the masonry wall using two 3/4" diameter expansion anchors with a 4" minimum embedment. Additionally, the unit rests on legs provided with the unit, secured at each corner with 3/4" diameter by 6" long Kwik bolts.
