The water heater is mounted on a concrete housekeeping pad supported by the floor slab and connects to a floor drain. Plumbing connections include associated valves and piping. Each heating element requires an individually adjustable, surface-mounted thermostat equipped with a built-in manual reset high limit control. The plumbing contractor must adjust multiple thermostats to provide staged temperature control with a two to three degree differential between stages to meet hot water demand.
