This slab construction joint detail features a first pour and a second pour separated by a joint measuring one-eighth inch wide by one-quarter inch deep filled with sealant. The assembly is tied across the joint with one-inch diameter by one-foot four-inch long smooth round dowels spaced at twelve inches on center and centered in the slab thickness. The slab-on-grade thickness and reinforcing are specified per plan, bearing directly on a compacted sub-grade.
